Experience the 2025 Tour de France from a FranceComfort holiday park

The Tour de France - also known as “La Grande Boucle” - is the most famous cycling race in the world. This multi-day cycling race, which will be held this year from July 5 to July 27, runs for the most part through France and is one of the most popular sporting events next to the World Cup and the Olympic Games. After the unique 2024 edition, where the finish was in Nice because of the Olympic Games, the final stage returns to the classic finish line on the Champs-Élysées in Paris this year.

Tips to experience the Tour de France at its best

  • Good preparation is key. Prepare yourself well by looking up the route before you go and watch a stage of the Tour. You can find all routes on the Tour de Francewebsite.
  • Find a good spot to watch the spectacle from. Are you looking for a quieter place? Go just outside one of the cities or villages on the route. In the town or city centre it is usually a lot busier, but there is always a lot of fun.
  • Pack the right stuff. Waiting and watching the race is a lot more enjoyable if you can sit on a picnic blanket or camping chair. Also be sure to take plenty of snacks.
  • Be aware of the weather. Provide cooling in heat and something warm to put on in cold and rain.
  • Be careful along the side of the road. The cyclists of the Tour pass by at lightning speed. So, make sure you have enough distance from the road and keep a close eye on children.
  • Watch the advertising caravan. Well before the cyclists pass, a colorful caravan of decorated vehicles and advertising cars passes by. This 'Caravane Publicitaire' is a regular part of the Tour and creates a festive atmosphere with music, dancing mascots and free gadgets thrown at the public. Especially children (and their parents!) find this a great part of the day.

  • Houd rekening met het weer. Zorg voor verkoeling bij hitte en voor iets warms om aan te trekken bij kou en regen;
  • Wees voorzichtig langs de kant van de weg. De wielrenners van de Tour komen razendsnel voorbij. Zorg dus voor voldoende afstand en houd kinderen goed in de gaten.

The Tour de France 2025 will end in Paris!

After the unique 2024 edition, in which the Tour de France did not end in Paris for the first time in history, the final stage will return to the Champs-Élysées in 2025. This iconic setting has been the traditional end of the Tour for decades and is a fitting stage for the sprinters to fight for victory one more time.

With a varied route full of mythical climbs, such as the Mont Ventoux and Col de la Loze, the Tour de France 2025 will be an edition not to be missed!

Climbing time trial Pyrenees

Although the finish is back on familiar ground, the 2025 Tour promises to be spectacular again. The penultimate stage on Saturday 26 July is an individual climbing time trial to Peyragudes in the Pyrenees. Here, the classification riders will try to make the difference for the last time before the peloton heads to Paris on Sunday 27 July.

Behold a Tour stage

Are you looking forward to seeing the cyclists in action at the Tour de France 2025? We can very well imagine that! This cycling spectacle attracts thousands of spectators along the route every year, and experiencing a mountain stage is an experience to remember. An absolute must this year is the climb of Mont Ventoux during stage 17 on July 22. Also known as the 'Giant of Provence', this iconic mountain is one of the most famous climbs in Tour history. The long, gruelling climb and the barren lunar landscape at the top make it an impressive backdrop for a stage that is guaranteed to be spectacular.

After a day full of cycling,  you will return to your luxury holiday home in Provence, where you can reminisce about the impressive stage in comfort – for example with a good glass of French wine on your terrace.

In addition to the Tour, Provence is a wonderful region to discover. Enjoy the typical southern French landscape with extensive vineyards, fragrant lavender fields and picturesque villages. Visit historic cities such as Aix-en-Provence or venture out to the breathtaking Gorges du Verdon, one of the most beautiful gorges in Europe.
