A day in the holidays to Waterpark O'Gliss

In addition to beautiful nature and delicious food, a holiday in France is also popular due to France’s pleasant temperatures. The coastal region of Provence - Côte d'Azur is known for having the most hours of sunshine per year. You can sit outside in your holiday home’s garden or on a restaurant’s terrace for large parts of the year. Did you know that after Provence, the Vendée has the most hours of sunshine per year? The Poitou-Charentes, the region bordering the Vendée, can't complain either. If you are on holiday in this area and are looking to cool off during a hot day, go to Parc Aquatique "O'Gliss Park" in Le Bernard. This park is located north of La Rochelle and the Marais Poitevin. Most of the Aquaparks in France are in the Provence or the Languedoc or near Bordeaux on the Atlantic coast, nearly all are located in the south of France. O'Gliss Park is located in the Vendée.

O'Gliss, water fun during your holiday

A day at the O'Gliss water park will be one of the highlights of your holiday, especially for your children. Get there early in the morning to miss the crowds. O'Gliss is one of the largest water parks in Europe and is suitable for all ages from small toddlers to adults. There are slides that small children can go down without danger, but also slides where you go down from a great height and at a considerable speed. The water park also has a lagoon with waterfalls, a wild river of hundreds of meters long, a wave pool and climbing frames. If you want to sit down and have a relax, lie down on one of the many sunbeds or sit on your towel on the tropical white beaches. There are also private areas with private jacuzzis and indoor lodges which you can book against an additional cost. The park also has plenty of catering options.

Enjoy VIP service during your day in O'Gliss

The park was a huge success from the moment it opened in 2016. In the years that followed, the park was further expanded and renovated. During the summer the park can get very crowded on hot days and there can be long queues. To be able to provide a solution for this, O'Gliss has come up with an extra service called VIP service. A maximum of 150 visitors are allowed to enter the park an hour earlier for an additional fee. The doors normally open at 10 a.m., but against this additional fee a select group can enter at 9 a.m. This allows you to enjoy the water attractions queue-free for an hour. You can also reserve the best sunbeds in this hour. Part of the VIP treatment is that you can order your own lounge set. For a slightly higher price you have a lounge set with a canopy. The private lodge with minibar, hot drinks and catering is even more luxurious.

Water fun for all ages

The park is divided into several sections. Each part is aimed at a certain age. This allows the park to ensure that young children don't access the facilities intended for the elderly.
The park is home to the following sections:

O’Cayo Island

There is a large swimming pool ideal for the whole family on O'Cay Island. O’Cay island also has a wellness area and lifeguards to keep an eye on your children. There is also a climbing wall that slightly older children can use. O'Cayo Island also has a large lawn with sunbeds.

Ludopark

Ludopark is aimed at children. There are wide terraces with sunbeds surrounding the water attractions from where you can keep an eye on your children. Climb aboard the Buccaneers' Galleon and explore the ship. There are slides suitable for the little ones in the "Déliré'O". The Aquatower is a bit higher and suitable for slightly older children. It has four water slides.

Exploral'O

In Exploral'O, you will find yourself in the world of wild rivers. The rivers have a length of over 400m combined. This section has the following wild rivers; the Speed River of 120m, the Indiana of 70m, the Colorado of 90m and the Niagara of 120m. The rivers differ in difficulty.

Delir'space

The Délir'Space is home to 12 intense slides. Do you dare to try them all? There are 3 green slides for beginners: the Body Slide, the Tunnel Body Slide and the Rafting Slide. There are also blue and red slides for the more advanced; the Twister I and II, the Multi Surf, the Flying Boat, the Space Boat and the Turbo Lance. This section also has black slides which allow you to make a free fall from a great height. You will need quite a bit of adrenaline to try out these slides. The black slides have the following names; the Looping Rocket, the Free Fall,  and the Kamikaze. The Délir'Space also has a completely different attraction, namely Virtual Rafting. Take a seat in the boat, put on your VR glasses and race down the wildly flowing river.

Sunset’Playa

After you have used up all your adrenaline on the slides, it is time to rest, relax and reload. To do so, go to Sunset'Playa. After swimming, let yourself dry off and enjoy the warm rays of the sun or lie on a sunbed in the shade under the palm trees. You can do so on the private beach, near the cocktail bar. You can also relax in the wave pool.  To finish off the day,  you can enjoy DJ  Mousse's foam party.

Stingray 2024

A new attraction will open in 2024: the Stingray. This is the largest water slide in Europe. You will sit in a buoy and can then choose from 4 descents. Don't be scared by the height because it is only 28m! The descents are all impressive due to the violent centrifugal forces to which you are subjected. You will spin around the wings of the Stingray a few times before going further down until you finally end up in the water. The opening is on June 22, 2024.
